The Future of Luxury Hospitality: Industry Experts’ Perspectives on Technology Integration in Restaurants towards Vision 2035

Abstract
The restaurant sector is undergoing significant technological changes with Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation and robotics, cloud kitchens, Internet of Things (IoT) and digital ordering. The present study aims to explore the perception of the industry experts about the current level of technology in restaurants in Chandigarh Tricity and the expected change in technology by 2035. The study was designed using the “Quantitative Method” approach in which the primary data was gathered from 385 restaurant personnel by means of questionnaires. The analysis of data was done with descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, Factor analysis and regression analysis with SPSS program. The outcomes showed that digital payment systems, online food orders, point-of-sale and QR code menus were all very high in use. The reaction to how AI, smart kitchens, automation, robotics and data analysis will effect the restaurant industry in the future was equally high. The study also identified that operational efficiency and technology benefits were good predictors of future use of technology, as well as the cost of implementing the technology and lack of technical knowledge as barriers. The results will provide owner and professionals of restaurants with interesting insights into technological preparedness and digitalisation of the future.
