Abstract

Since ancient times, it has been acknowledged that religion, which is an ubiquitous and persistent force in human society, exerts a significant impact on the cultural norms and values that people adhere to. The purpose of this research paper is to conduct an in-depth investigation of the complex link that exists between culture and religion. This investigation is led by a sociological perspective. The purpose of this research is to uncover the multiple mechanisms by which religion shapes and is shaped by the cultural fabric of civilizations. This will be accomplished by a thorough review of historical settings, sociological theories, and empirical data. The study begins by outlining the basic linkages between religion and culture. It then goes on to explain how religious beliefs and practises have, over the course of millennia, been important in the process of building the moral and ethical landscapes of various civilizations. The purpose of this research is to deconstruct the ways in which religion serves as a moral compass that directs individual conduct and society norms. This is accomplished by analysing religious ideas, holy texts, and moral codes.
