The Rise of Remote Learning: Educational Outcomes During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Main Article Content
Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic forced educational institutions worldwide to shift to remote learning, raising concerns about its impact on student outcomes. This study evaluates the effects of remote learning on educational performance, student engagement, and mental health. We conducted a survey of 1,500 students in Australia, comparing their academic achievements and psychological well-being before and after the transition to remote learning. Our findings show that while students appreciated the flexibility, many struggled with a lack of motivation and faced challenges in maintaining focus during online classes. Additionally, a decline in social interaction contributed to increased feelings of isolation. The paper concludes by recommending a hybrid learning model that combines the benefits of both in-person and online education to improve outcomes in the post-pandemic era.
