Abstract

The temple is the Buddhist consecration, worship, release of life, meditation, chanting Buddha and other religious activities of the main place, so the temple building has the characteristics of concentrated personnel, wide site, many houses. How to effectively and orderly understand the architectural characteristics and cultural connotation of Buddhist temples is an important aspect of studying the development process of Buddhist temples in Mount Wutai. At present, most of the research on the Buddhist temples in Mount Wutai focuses on the historical evolution, the protection of the temple, the internal space layout of the temple and other aspects, but there is no research on the architectural characteristics and cultural connotation of the Buddhist temples in Mount Wutai. Based on this, by analyzing the structure and development of Buddhist temples, this paper deeply understands the architectural characteristics and cultural connotation of Buddhist temples on Mount Wutai, and puts forward the protection methods of Buddhist temple architecture and culture on Mount Wutai, so as to provide a theoretical basis for the promotion of Buddhist temple architecture and culture on Mount Wutai.
