Formulation and Development of Buccaleffervescent Tablets of Silodosin
Main Article Content
Abstract
The present work was attempted to formulate and development of Buccal Effervescent tablets of Silodosin by Direct Compression method. Literature survey was carried out for selection of suitable excipients. Pre-formulation studies were conducted to identify Silodosin by means of UV Spectrophotometric test and melting point determination. The results of compatibility studies were carried out by FTIR. The result of FTIR analysis showed compatibility without any significant interaction all pre-compression parameter like Carr’s index, Hausner’s ratio and Angle of repose. The average Wight, friability and Hardness were within compendial limits which showed that all formulation possessed good mechanical strength. Optimized formulation showed minimum Effervescent time of 65.52±0.3sec, disintegration time 77.95±0.53sec. The batch showed that there was no significant change in Hardness, wetting time, In-vitro Disintegration time, Drug content, and In-vitro Dissolution profile for a period of one mouth when Stability study for period of one mouth. From the study it was concluded that Buccal Effervescent Tablets of Silodosin can be successfully prepared using Effervescent agent by direct compress method which can provide time. Thus, it will be an important factor in improving patient compliance which is prerequisite for the treatment of Prostate gland for all age groups.
