Impact of Smart Technology Adoption on Operational Efficiency in Hotel Room Division: A Study of Five-Star Hotels in Bengaluru

Abstract
The research paper here examines the overall influence of smart technologies-specifically IoT, AI, & mobile automation-on the operational efficiency-based nature of hotel room divisions in Bengaluru's five-star hotels, a particular area that lacks extensive academic attention compared to front-office technology for this nature of the study. Through a mixed-methods approach, data was wholesomely gathered from 315 room division professionals across 40 luxury hotels which complemented by 15 qualitative interviews with management. Results been said revealed a significant positive correlation between IoT adoption as well as operational metrics, including a 22% reduction in room turnaround time as also shown an 18% decrease in energy consumption (p < 0.001). Despite this nature of benefits, the study here to be identified barriers such as high initial costs, compatibility issues with existing systems, and a particular digital skills gap among housekeeping staff. By integrating these all findings with technological acceptance models, the study offers here more on theoretical & managerial frameworks. It concludes that smart technology is always critical for enhancing efficiency, but its eventually sees success in Bengaluru’s luxury sector depends on aligning technological infrastructure with employee training & development.....
