Abstract

This paper is a critical evaluation of theory of Social Change as propounded by Oswald Spengler viz a viz the


future of Democracy in Western Capitalist Society. This research article is centred around the theoretical   examination of the theory given by Oswald Spengler in the context of western civilizations. He is a theorists and Historian who drew similarities of rise and fall of civilizations to that of individuals -who are born, grow, mature and then die. His assumption on cyclical change, subsequently led him to believe on the theory that western civilizations will meet the similar fate after reaching maturity. This paper will examine the claims and arguments posed by Spengler and present and future of western capitalist society. The methodology used in this paper is analytical and secondary data based, with the theoretical understanding of the concept, as well as descriptive methodology used for the empirical studies made by other thinkers, Sociologists, Political and Economic thinker etc. This paper will analyse the present scenario and the existing political, economic conditions prevailing in the western societies.....
