Problems Faced by Principals in the Effective Implementation of the Four-Year Integrated B.Ed. Programme in Gujarat.

Abstract
The implementation of the four-year Integrated B.Ed. programme represents a significant shift in the landscape of teacher education. The objective of the study was to investigate the problems faced by principals in executing this programme in Gujarat and to provide suggestions for improvement. It was a descriptive survey research design. The sample included the total population of four principals from Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) in Gujarat currently offering the integrated course. A semi-structured interview schedule was developed and administered to collect data across six dimensions: Admission, Infrastructure, Internship, Examination, Mentoring, and Support Services. Content analysis was used to interpret the qualitative data. The results showed that while the domains of examination and mentoring were functioning effectively, the principals faced significant challenges in admissions due to a lack of awareness and technical issues.
