Clinical Effectiveness of Individualized Homoeopathic Treatment in Migraine: A Prospective Observational Study Assessing Headache Frequency, Intensity, Disability, and Quality of Life

Abstract
Migraine is a chronic, disabling neurovascular disorder for which conventional prophylactic therapy is often limited by partial efficacy and adherence challenges, sustaining clinical interest in individualized homoeopathic treatment (Homeopathy USA, 2025). This review synthesizes evidence from eight studies—five prospective observational studies, two randomized placebo-controlled trials, and supporting systematic reviews—examining the effectiveness of individualized homoeopathy on headache frequency, intensity, disability, and quality of life in migraine patients (Witt et al., 2010; Vithoulkas et al., 2004; Danno et al., 2013; Trigotra, 2023; Straumsheim et al., 2000). Observational studies consistently reported statistically significant, often large-magnitude improvements across all four outcome domains, whereas randomized, blinded trials produced more modest and inconsistent findings, and systematic reviews characterized the overall evidence base as methodologically limited (Ernst, 1999; Owen, 2009). The review concludes that while individualized homoeopathic treatment shows a consistent positive association with improved migraine outcomes in real-world observational settings, well-powered, blinded, randomized controlled trials using standardized outcome measures are needed to establish treatment-specific efficacy.
